Le Vieux Crapaud Restaurant Review:

Near the Champs-Élysées, this homey bistro delivers old-fashioned fare. Chef Thomas Boutin bustles behind a bay window at the back of the restaurant to prepare hearty items. His signature dishes include a crispy pig’s ear flavored with mustard, frogs with persillade, grilled snails from Hungary, and a tasteful calf sweetbread deglazed with lemon and veal juice and sided by a purée stuffed with oyster mushrooms. Even the dessert is crafted meticulously, a commendable and warm risotto perfumed with vanilla. A dozen wines are available by the glass, including a 2012 Bordeaux Maucaillou. Efficient service overseen by the spouse of the chef.
