THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Le Village Restaurant Review:
Le Village has discreetly subsumed the former Table Verte, adding a meat-friendly and gluten-free menu to the many vegetarian and vegan options beloved by the neighborhood. Chef Didier Pawlicki’s French bistro is a sliver of a restaurant, enlivened with gold art and green butcher block tables and green-tinted light fixtures. Popular vegetable dishes show off the seasonal best of the greenmarket with dishes like roast cauliflower served in a red bell pepper coulis with sautéed greens, sweet potatoes and quinoa; and tangy-sweet sautéed Brussels sprouts accompanied by balsamic-glazed strawberries. Heartier mains satisfy non-meat eaters with a bean and mushroom based cassoulet, and there’s rich rustic coq au vin laced with red wine, bacon, onion and mushrooms. The comfort food orientation fits the tone of the place, welcoming but unassuming. Rare in the area, Le Village is BYOB, with $15 corkage fee for wines and $2 for beer.
