THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Legacy Restaurant Review

: Paul Guillemin has quite a history in Los Angeles, most famously at his Santa Monica restaurants Chez Paul and Le St. Michel. It took him a while to settle in at Legacy, where the classic food and formal service seemed to puzzle casually-inclined South Bay diners. Both food and service are now more modern, though the beautiful south dining room is still about the only place in town where a gentleman feels underdressed if he's not wearing a jacket. Given the neighborhood, that jacket might be over jeans and a polo shirt, but it still fits the atmosphere. The food is an eclectic mix of French and Italian ideas with more than a bit of Americana; you can get a good linguine jambalaya-style along with your sea bass Nicole or herb-crusted rack of lamb. Legacy is often packed on weekends with couples celebrating romantic occasions and family dinners but is often nearly empty on weekdays. The modestly-priced lunches are a good value and seem to be catching on with the business crowd.
