Leith's at Dartmouth House Restaurant Review:
This is a somewhat surprising, but delightful, venture---a public restaurant in the headquarters of The English-Speaking Union. The Revelstoke Room is a cross between a hotel drawing room and a club. Portraits hang on the deep-red walls, chairs are upholstered in red, carpet muffles the noise and the linen is finely starched. There’s a good lunch available---one course £15.50, two courses £18.50 and three courses £21.50. The menu offers modern dishes like roasted red pepper soup with pesto or fresh, seasonal salads as starters, char-grilled meats and simply cooked fish. To finish, try the puddings of the satisfying-but-not-too-heavy variety, homemade ice creams with biscuits or an imaginative Brie with gooseberry compote. In summer there’s the advantage of a beautiful, outdoor courtyard.
