Leonard's Bakery Restaurant Review

: A twenty-minute walk from Waikiki to this nondescript bakery leads to some of the best malasadas (a Portuguese word to describe a deep-fried sweet dough rolled in sugar) that the Islands have to offer. The original malasadas are lighter than air and covered with sugar; the newer versions are showered in cinnamon or filled with assorted puddings. The other specialty is the Portuguese sweet bread which is light, moist and good for french toast or used in a sandwich with curried chicken salad.
