THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Leroy's Kitchen + Lounge Restaurant Review:

Coronado local David Spatafore, proprietor of other island companies like Village Pizzeria and MooTime Creamery, among others, decided to bring farm-to-table cuisine to town with Leroy's Kitchen + Lounge. But the plates, which utilize many sustainable ingredients, also speak of global influences. The seasonal menu starts with "bites + shares" like Niman Ranch deviled eggs with Indian spices; poke tacos; and white Mexican prawns with grits and lardons. Locally inspired fare features Carlsbad black mussels infused with saffron, and watermelon salad dotted with sweet strawberries. We like the scallops, nestled on asparagus risotto, and the tender braised short ribs. Brunch includes dessert-like berry brioche french toast and savory crab bread pudding. The hangover soup is a tasty curative with noodles, pork belly and a poached egg. On Thursdays, the place hops with live music and offers a Coronado Island party. Tap beers are craft-brewed. We recommend the "Kama Sutra," with Appleton Estate rum, mango, lime and mint, as a refreshing libation that helps move the spirit and body to the rhythms at hand.
