L'Europeen Restaurant Review:
In front of the Gare de Lyon, this huge brasserie features several dining rooms, a bar with an imposing brass counter and a pleasant terrace on sunny days. Specialties are the seafood shown on a stand, ranging from crab and Spanish mussels to shrimps, clams and whelks. Among the different platters suggested on the menu, try the oyster version, a real treat comprised of twelve items from six varieties, notably the succulent and fleshy Spéciales Gillardeau. Other commendable dishes include the scallops carpaccio, the fish sauerkraut, the flank steak with shallot sauce and crispy french fries, and the rice pudding enhanced with caramel. A dozen of wines are served in pitchers of different size. Smiling and attentive waitstaff.
