LICKSKILLET FARM RESTAURANT IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED. Giant shade trees and neat flower beds lead up to the entrance of this lovely old structure set beside a rippling creek. In recent years, the menu has shifted away from its Old South roots and now offers a bit more sophisticated fare. However, Lickskillet's famous cracklin' cornbread, served in a hot cast iron skillet, is still available, and fried green tomatoes are the first item on the appetizer menu. Among the numerous entrées are snapper Alicia with sautéed spinach, jumbo lump crab meat, white wine, lemon and hollandaise; and smoked sea scallops in puff pastry with prosciutto, asparagus, pine nut and lemon sherry cream. Sunday brunch is extremely popular, so be prepared for crowds.
