THIS RESTAURANT IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED Limestone Grille Restaurant Review: Limestone Grille in the historic Ye Kendall Inn on Boerne's Town Square boasts the expected charm of a building dating from 1859. But despite flashes of flair, we feel the menu could use the same remodeling the hotel itself has experienced. With a new chef, hope now springs eternal. Appetizers such as yellowfin tuna “nachos” with grapefruit avocado relish are already on target, and we also recommend the wild arugula and watercress salad accompanied by a sherry mustard vinaigrette. Also a hit, and in synch with the setting, is the smoked and roasted spare ribs with jalapeño cheddar grits. The chef’s background suggests steaks and chops should play well, too. Desserts run the gamut from homey, Hill Country peach cobbler to chic chocolate mousse cake. The wine list offers numerous well-priced bottles reflective of the restaurant’s longtime commitment to exceptional wine dinners for which special menus are created. |
