Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant Restaurant Review:

"The Lincoln," as it is known to locals, is a deceiving surprise under an unassuming roof. When you walk in, you can grab a seat at the front bar to take in the lively atmosphere, or head to the back of the massive restaurant, where families enjoy dinner near a quieter second bar. For starters, we like the wood-fired spicy wings and crispy pork ribs: the perfect comfort fare topped with barbecue sauce and candied pecans. Be sure to pair with one of the many local microbrews on tap. Other lighter appetizers include grilled marinated rock shrimp, pepper-crusted seared tuna and Southern-style street corn topped with fiery Tabasco crumbs. For main dishes, don't miss the juicy wood-grilled bar steak made better with a side of truffle fries, or the seared scallops served with a side of whipped jalapeño red bliss potatoes. There is also a nice selection of creative sandwiches (think soft-shell crab BLTs and caprese on a baguette topped with strawberry balsamic reduction), house-made hot dogs, wood-grilled burgers and wood-fired pizzas. Finish with the "half baked" peanut butter cookie.
