Cuisine: Mexican
Celebrating its 25th year, Lindo Mexico is one of the longer-running Mexican restaurants on the North Side. The front room-bar area is very drab. Through the hallway and into the rear dining room things improve. The bi-level room is pleasant and comfortable (sit across from the aquarium if you wish to meditate). Each time we go here we see family groups dining with relish. No surprises here, the menu is a compilation of what you might expect from mainstream Mexican (read: not Nuevo Mexican, as in Salpicon and Topolobampo). Two dishes of interest: camarones ala diabla, shrimp with herbs and guajillo sauce, is pleasingly hot; and pollo Taxco is a plump sautéed chicken breast varnished with Michoacan sauce. Cuban entrées, though a token effort, are worth a try. Regulars love the outdoor patio. Service is efficient.
Openings: Lunch Sat.-Sun., Dinner nightly
