In a dining room festooned with colorful paper garlands, Hector the guitarist strolls, serenading patrons elbow-deep in chicken flautas, beef enchiladas, heaping fajitas and char-broiled skirt steak tampiquena with all the trimmings. The chicken mole may not be the most intriguing, the carne aduvada may lack depth and the service may proceed at a snail’s pace, but the setting couldn’t be better: From the rear of the restaurant, or better yet, from the outdoor patio in fine weather, comes a gorgeous view across the harbor. In such a clime, you may even find yourself singing along when Hector plays your special request.
