The Little Beet Table, New York, NY

The Little Beet Table Restaurant Review

: Chef Franklin Becker's homage to health-conscious fare on Park Avenue is a big hit, particularly with vegetarians. The Little Beet Table's rustically simple interior is loud, so sit as close as possible to your dining companion. Start with an order of shrimp accompanied by chili-pepper-laced chickpeas and sip on a glass of wine from the long list. Entrées might include a good bacon-topped burger (though the bun is too crumbly); rigatoni with broccoli rabe, tomatoes, garlic and ricotta salata; pan-roasted Hudson Valley organic chicken; and slow-cooked salmon with avocado caponata, pistachio and black olive oil. Dessert options are minimal, but if you need to satisfy a sweet tooth, go for the apple crumble with almonds and Tahitian vanilla ice cream.
