Sometimes you put a restaurant in an old house and the only thing you remember about the experience are the drafts and the wallpaper. Not at Little Italy. Here, the room in the house that diners leave praising is the kitchen. The menu is not overreaching, but it is full of solid renditions of chicken, beef, fish and pasta dishes. The saltimbocca is fork-tender, and the pastas are fresh. Be sure to try any of the gelatos. Dine on the serene patio out back during good weather. The restaurant is a short walk from downtown Northville, meaning it’s close enough for a before- or after-dinner stroll around the quaint area that celebrates Victoriana.
