| There are better destinations for Chinese food in Denver, but few do the shoulder-to-shoulder business Ollie’s does. The Cherry Creek locale, chic setting and outdoor patio may explain the attraction, aided by a menu of consistent if uninspired fare. Egg rolls are the same thing found for less in other establishments; the sesame chicken lacks flavor and spicy spunk. The allegedly hot dishes suffer from a similar fate, packing little heat or punch. Seafood meals are good options and many of the dishes here benefit from hot-pot presentations. The sake list is a sin---one cheapo model that may reveal something about the standards of the house and its clientele. |
