Tucked in the corner of an Irvine strip mall, this venue is a slightly elevated spinoff of the Mexican restaurant that's stood near the confluence of the Santa Ana, Costa Mesa and Irvine borders since 1972. Like the sister location, this spot offers an array of tacos and expected comfort-driven combination plates. Chef Agustin Bruno augments this foundation with a few unique dishes such as grilled prime pork chop in mole negro and fresh grilled mahi mahi served with serrano chile salsa. Guests can also imbibe several versions of margaritas and other cocktails. On weekends, patrons can dig into brunch dishes like huevos rancheros, pork chilaquiles and churro pancakes.
