| Housed in a former gas station renovated with a retro '40s frame of mind, Little Pappas Seafood is decked out in a rustic seaside motif. Featuring old signage, netting, knick-knacks and even a boat suspended from the ceiling of the main dining area, Little Pappas serves some of the freshest seafood in Houston. Everything is well prepared with a Louisiana accent and served in huge portions. For starters, try the unparalleled creamy crawfish bisque, New England clam chowder or Texas Blue crab cakes with crawfish and pico de gallo in a white wine sauce. Move on to a variety of fish dishes based on the fresh catches of the day. Check the blackboard for such delicacies as mahi mahi, Chilean sea bass, rainbow trout, salmon, tuna, flounder, swordfish, drum fish, lobster and those Gulf Coast favorites, snapper and redfish. In honor of the cultural heritage of the Pappas family, a specialty of the house is the Greek salad, a tangy treat made tableside. Other chef's specials include angel hair pasta with sautéed shrimp, broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms in a seasoned olive oil; and the jumbo shrimp brochette, wrapped in bacon, stuffed with cheese and grilled over mesquite. |
