After work, the young-and-beautiful crowd assembles around the bar literally two and three deep, waiting for a spot and talking it up with friends. Noise levels are pretty high, but in the restaurant, one still can hear at the table. There are several ways to enjoy a meal at the Lobby. Breakfast offers fairly standard dishes, including a spicy marinated shrimp and grits that one doesn't typically think of as a morning dish. For lunch, we like the vegetable slider with sides of Caesar salad and a lovely, fresh-tasting take on Mexican tortilla soup, flavored with chunks (instead of more traditional strips) of chicken and lime. The dinner menu lines up the restaurant's take on popular dishes, such as pizza or a steak. Only a few desserts are offered, but we suggest the cheesecake without the accompanying needless embellishments. A beginning wine enthusiast may find this wine list exciting, but connoisseurs won't. At happy hour, a single martini is offered from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays for $1, and $5 glasses of wine (certain selections) are offered Mondays through Fridays during the same hours.
