Lobster reigns supreme at this offbeat eatery near the Gaslamp Quarter’s restaurant row. The Maine-bred crustaceans turn up in bisque, salads and pastas but are most popular served in their shells, New England--style, with steamed potatoes, corn on the cob and plenty of melted butter. Also on the menu are a variety of shellfish appetizers, an excellent New England clam chowder, many shrimp dishes---including a selection of pastas---and a few meat offerings for those who cannot say fish and maintain a smile. The conventioneers and locals who come here seem to get a kick out of the decor, which tries to mimic life under the waves.
