The Loft Bistro Restaurant Review: Located adjacent to The Loft, but serving its own separate menu, is The Loft Bistro on the fourth floor of Montage Laguna Beach. Serving on a first-come, first-served basis, the restaurant opens its doors at 3 p.m. The space features a bar area, relaxed dining room and a veranda with heat lamps. As at the neighboring restaurant, chef Casey Overton oversees the short and simple bill of fare. Shareable starters include charcuterie boards, sweet potato fries with truffle and aged Parmesan, and barbecue chicken flatbread with Winchester Gouda and cilantro purée. Main dishes range from dry-aged burger with braised applewood bacon, Gruyère cheese and wild arugula to a few sushi rolls including the “Crunchy Maine Lobster” roll with avocado and eel sauce. (If you can’t decide between the rolls, you can elect to sample all three.) Be sure to browse the selection of signature and classic cocktails, including the Aviation and Twelve Mile Limit.
