 Lola Restaurant Review: In Cleveland’s bustling East Fourth Street entertainment district, Michael Symon’s Lola offers curious concoctions as tasty as they are buzz-generating. While the atmosphere is quietly elegant, the food is anything but. A handful of signature Lola dishes require sampling: the Lola burger, Lola fries and the beef cheek pierogies, which are drizzled with dark, rich wild mushroom gravy and horseradish crème fraîche. Other can’t-go-wrong options include the lobster roll served with pickles and chips, grilled lamb heart or Quinault River sturgeon served with bacon, limas, clams, sofrito and heirloom tomatoes. For dessert, we suggest the Mandarin Bavarian and chocolate cake with sweet-tart orange gastrique. Beyond the food, Lola has an extensive wine list with more than 400 selections and approachable "wine managers" to help navigate the bottles. |
