Lolita Restaurant Review: For the tenth anniversary of their modern Mexican restaurant, partners Valerie Safran and Marcie Turney decided to completely revamp the menu, renovate the space, add lunch service and replace its BYOB approach with a full bar. The menu now offers their nontraditional spin on Mexican street food, including multiple versions of house-made guacamole; tacos filled with pork, fried chicken or cauliflower and pickled onion; and entrées such as carne asada. Pair the offerings with a flight of tequila; a classic margarita or specialty versions in flavors like honeysuckle or pear-basil; or a house cocktail, such as the enervating Green Hornet, gin swirled with tomatillo-jalapeño-cilantro syrup and soda.
