THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED L'Olive Restaurant Review

: Chicago has been going Moroccan of late. This is the third such restaurant to open here in one year. Pleasantly quiet and cool, this one features that tasty duet most important to the cuisine from this part of the world---couscous and tagines---and does a nice job with both. Be sure not to miss the couscous calamares. Couscous, black from the ink of cuttlefish, is arranged with carrots and zucchini. Then, in a separate bowl, the rings of squid are deliciously tossed with olive, tomatoes, chickpeas and spinach. Flavor and texture abound. To precede this main course dish course as an appetizer, we’d recommend the Zaalouk---the Moroccan answer to French ratatouille. Desserts are nothing to write home to Casablanca about, but the traditional tea service is.
