THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Lolo Restaurant Review:

At this vivid, Latin, found-art salon of a restaurant, every inch of its two intimate dining rooms is outfitted in repurposed objects---milk-bottlecap art; shoeshine-box footrests; boldly colored, hand-sewn banquettes. Call it collage chic, carefully crafted by designer Lorena Zertuche. The food is as creative and colorful and no less serious for being so, fusing Latin American, Mediterranean and some Asian and Turkish flavors into sharp little delights. Culinary trompe l’oeils include a pretty plate of octopus tiradito, delicately thin and doused with Turkish isot (smoky pepper flakes) to resemble a Pollock painting, as well as tender, panko-encrusted shrimp served in refreshing “tortillas” formed from jícama. Points for the eccentric fried huitlacoche dumplings---the poor man’s truffle with a ghostly tang---paired with frothy corn mousse. The menu is equally split between playful small plates and heartier entrées, but we enjoy the small ones best with pairing recommendations off the short, mostly new-world wine list. Desserts include a lovingly prepared cheesecake, and unusual, artisanal gelatos from SF Gelato.
