Nuno Mendes Launches Crowdfund for Viajante Return
Famous for commandeering the kitchen at celebrity hotspot Chiltern Firehouse, Nuno Mendes has launched a crowdfund project to help resurrect the much-loved restaurant that was once Viajante. Should the £1.75m quota be met (quite likely), the new version will be built in a restored Victorian Warehouse in Wapping. The focus will be on tasting menus, and chefs from around the world will be invited to cook in its kitchen.

Afternoon Tea Makeover at Palm Court
Now is a good time to visit Palm Court at The Langham, London. Should you fancy an indulgent afternoon tea, or want to try its new Chez Roux dinner menu, you can do so in particularly smart surroundings, thanks to the restaurant’s recent and extensive multi-million pound refurbishment. Palm Court, The Langham, London, 1 Portland Place, London W1B 1JA, 020-7636 1000.

"Choose Your Own Table" at M Restaurants
Restaurant tables are not made equal; there are always some seats in the house that are better positioned than others. M restaurants have removed the risk of being stuck near a draughty entrance by introducing a new feature on its booking system. Utilizing Google Places, a 360-degree walkthrough of the space enables guests to select their preferred table prior to booking. M, 2 & 3 Threadneedle Walk, 60 Threadneedle St., London EC2R 8HP, 020-3327 7770.

Hawker House Returns
Street Feast's indoor night market Hawker House is back, and this time it’s heading over to Canada Water. Following a very successful winter stint in Dalston last year, it will this time be showcasing two floors of street food, bars and its now-famous whisky roulette, in a warehouse on Canada Street. New for this year is Neil Rankin's Meat Hook, Argentine-style, three-meter-long, whole-animal grill; and Up In My Grill, serving hunks of meat with shoestring fries and chimichurri. There'll be 13 street food vendors to choose from, and six bars serving everything from craft beer to classic cocktails. Hawker House will stay there until April 2016. Street Feast's Hawker House, Canada St., London SE16 2XU, no phone.
