| LongHorn Steakhouse is a large, chiefly East Coast chain founded in Atlanta. Each location is uniquely styled in regard to exterior architecture, but inside Bunkhouse Chic rules, favoring faux Old West bric-a-brac. For flavor, meats rely on rubs, seasonings and marinades. The prime rib, available in two sizes, lacks sweet meat character, so needs the horseradish sauce. Salmon and several chicken dishes, including the chicken special smothered with cheese, bacon and barbecue sauce, a troubling pile of flavor, provide options. Baby-back ribs are oven-cooked, so they're not for true 'cue fans. All mains come with a choice of salad---the Caesar's decent---and starch or veggies and bread. There are better steaks to be found in Atlanta, but they will be more expensive, so LongHorn has a headlock on the value department. Other locations. |
