Louie and Chan Restaurant Review:

The elegant English tavern-esque setting is marked by leather chairs and banquettes, burgundy walls, faux candlelight wall sconces and vintage decorative accents, which come together to create a turn-of-the-last-century parlor atmosphere. It’s an appropriate backdrop in which to enjoy meticulously crafted small and large plates of handmade pasta, fresh local fish and produce, and artisanal cheeses and specialty meats. Try the house-made squid ink tagliolini with shrimp, grape tomato, Parmigiano and lemon. Or perhaps opt for the cavatelli with caramelized cauliflower and Parmigiano. Consider as well the pizza tartufata with wild mushrooms, buffalo mozzarella and white truffle oil. A Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence, Les Quatre Tours 2012 rosé pairs well with the tagliolini dish, while a Valpolicella Classico, Ca del Monte 2012 from Veneto complements some of the stronger cheeses and cured meats.
