I Love Mr. Sushi Restaurant Review: This cozy little spot in a suburban strip mall draws those who appreciate lovingly treated raw fish, including a lot of students and Gen-X types on dates. If your only indication of its quality were the eponymous Mr. Sushi Roll---containing salmon, cream cheese, asparagus and avocado---you’d never believe that the rest of the menu is much more authentic. Well, maybe not the Texan (beef and jalapeños), but everyone’s allowed to have fun, right? The nigiri and sashimi are worthwhile, always fresh and with a full run of mackerel, tuna, salmon and eel, depending on the season and the sea. The rolls are a specialty---think about the caterpillar as a way to introduce kids to the pleasures of sushi. And note that the kitchen is careful with fried items that arrive greaseless but still moist. Everything can be ordered online to go, a nice option on a busy day. |
