Lucille’s Restaurant Review:

Chef/owner Chris Williams adds a few tweaks to his great-grandma Lucille’s recipes, but the dishes at this charming Museum District eatery stay true to old-school Southern cooking. The historic house in which Lucille’s makes its home retains some of the original brickwork and wood, which matches the atmosphere to the menu. Expect to start with bone marrow with oxtail marmalade, fried green tomatoes topped with goat cheese or the famous chili biscuits. The menu also includes shrimp and grits and such staples as roast chicken with braised collard greens --- oh, and don’t forget to try the cornbread, too. On weekends, the sangria flows and the hot cakes and chicken wings feed the brunch crowds. Go early and grab a spot on the patio in nice weather, or come during the week for afternoon happy hour specials --- an old fashioned and a fried oyster slider are just what you need after a long day at work.
