Luxe Kitchen & Lounge Restaurant Review: Contemporary and vintage recycled art and furniture give Luxe a shabby-chic feel that is warm and welcoming. The menu, created by chef-proprietor Marlin Kaplan, leans heavily on rustic-yet-modern dishes that aren't fussy or overplayed. Small plates are definitely the way to go --- we suggest starting with the sweet potato skins spiked with pancetta, candied figs, pistachio and goat cheese. From there, the “de-LUXE” pizza topped with roasted red pepper sauce, chorizo and manchego is a good bet. Ditto for the crispy polenta. The wine list sports some gems, too. Be sure to leave room for dessert; the cappuccino ice cream pie is worth the calories.
