THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Luxor Steakhouse Restaurant Review

: Understated elegance sets the tone for this steakhouse, featuring dark cherry-wood for a classic ambience and several rooms to afford more intimate dining. Favorite starters include sautéed basil-fed California escargots and a Hudson Valley foie gras tasting. Among chef’s market selections are savory king crab and lobster bisque and caviar choices accompanied by crème fraîche, egg and brioche points. We also like the arugula salad with candied walnuts and roasted shallot vinaigrette. Among imaginative grilled entrées are the pork chop with apricot-peach chutney, and veal porterhouse with braised sweetbreads and roasted tomato-port sauce. The seared Maine diver sea scallops are also a winner, as are the chef‘s market Hawaiian yellowfin tuna with spiced citrus sauce over Israeli couscous and braised veal osso buco on polenta with roasted tomato sauce. Bison rib-eye, Japanese Kobe filet mignon, Angus 24-ounce porterhouse and Angus 14-ounce Kansas City strip are among steak favorites. Save room for the caramelized banana pie with banana cream, bittersweet chocolate ganache with a touch of raspberry jelly. The expansive wine list, well-stocked with dessert wines, nicely complements the steakhouse cuisine.
