THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED M & D's Cafe Restaurant Review:
Mack and Daisy Shead have been the king and queen of ’cue in Five Points for decades. Their down-home eatery is a poly-ethnic joint where longtime locals mingle with suited business types, cops and demanding barbecue hunters. What brings them here? Some of the best ribs in town---dry-rubbed and smoked over hickory and apple---are served neat with three versions of sauce on the side. We smolder over the medium-hot version, laced with a hint of vinegar and flash-fire. Down-home sides of beans and greens are decent, the desserts of cobbler and sweet potato pie are first-rate, and we like washing it all down with a mason jar filled with sweet lemonade or real iced tea.
