In warm weather, the patio is a shady spot to experiment with the menu and watch the passing crowd on State Street. In cooler weather the large European-style main room is warm and full of aromas of fresh roasted coffee and homemade bread. The menu by chef Porfirio Lemus, formerly of the Wine Cask, is strong on Italian dishes but also blends in flavors of South America, North Africa and Southern France. Theres always a zesty soup as well as scads of pizza, sandwiches, homemade pastas like crispy gnocchi and grilled chicken, steak and sea bass.
