Macallans Public House Restaurant Review

: Most of the affects you’d want at an Irish pub can be found at this downtown Brea joint. Comfortable lounge seating, exposed brick walls, and not-too-loud music are present, as is a lengthy bar that is well stocked with whiskeys and Scotches with labels that range from the familiar to the obscure. Executive chef Roman Jimenez enhances the cozy vibe by crafting a compact menu featuring contemporary spins on Irish and American bites. Begin your night out with a Scotch flight and a basket of oven-baked pretzels with rosemary butter, or a plate of "animal style" poutine topped with house-made corned beef and grilled onions. Celtic classics such as the fish ‘n’ chips share main menu space with burgers and North American fare like 48-hour short ribs with black truffle mashed potatoes. Desserts are highlighted by the indulgent bourbon maple bread pudding. If you stop by on the weekends, you can dig into a traditional Irish breakfast while you check out the game on one of the eight TVs.
