Macrina Bakery & Cafe Restaurant Review: A serene and sophisticated café with the aroma of baking bread and pastry wafting from the adjacent bakery facility, Macrina raised the bar for baked goods in Seattle when it opened in 2004. A decade-plus later, it's still one of the best. Start the day with a sweet, yeasty morning roll paired with a Macrina latté. Lunch features a selection of grilled panini, soups and salads. We also like the savory galette packed with roasted fennel, red peppers and toasted pine nuts; the selection of quiches; and the three-cheese mac ‘n’ cheese with roasted leeks. Weekend brunch features scrambled eggs with salmon, crème fraîche and chives atop lightly toasted brioche. Cookies range from apricot and ginger to chocolate chip. An espresso bar and teas, plus fruit juices, make up the beverage list. Macrina Bakery provides many of Seattle's finest restaurants with breads, cakes and pastries. Other locations.
