Mad Platter Restaurant Review: For more than 20 years, Nashvillians have feasted on comforting, well-prepared contemporary American cuisine at the Mad Platter. For a rich start to the meal, go for the crab mac ‘n’ cheese with Gouda and truffle oil. Very good fried green tomatoes are available when the season’s right. Entrées are reasonably priced; we like the duck breast with heirloom grits, roasted beets and fennel as well as the Mediterranean-style rack of lamb with grape confit and roasted garlic. Tiramisu and bananas Foster are the highlights of the dessert list. Want to make a five-course dinner? Just add $20 to the price of any entrée, and you’re set. The wine list is nothing special, but offers a number of affordable, tasty choices. |
