| With its reliably good food, Maggiano’s has become a popular casual dining place. There’s nothing light, nothing cutting edge, but there are a lot of crowd pleasing offerings ranging from the garlicky bruschetta topped with fresh tomatoes, basil and balsamic vinegar to Mom's lasagna marinara with pasta sheets layered with ricotta, crumbled meatballs, Italian sausage and marinara. Melted provolone oozes on top. The kids’ menu gives the little ones many choices. For guests who have a wheat allergy, there’s gluten-free pasta---a nice touch. Maggiano's doesn't spare the horses on anything else and that goes double for the dessert selections such as Nonna's toasted pound cake with caramelized bananas. The wine list is limited but fairly priced, and service, although not polished, is efficient. |
