Maine-ly Sandwiches Restaurant Review: Maine-ly Sandwiches is set in a comfortable though small building, which explains why it’s usually standing-room-only at Buddy and Angela Charity’s eatery come lunchtime. Come early if you want to grab a table, otherwise queue up at the counter to order take-out. Sandwiches are built with a hot dog-style bun, buttered and toasted, and from a selection of meats, including meatballs, sliced turkey, roast beef and smoked ham. Choose from toppings of iceberg lettuce, jalapeños, pickles, cheese and black olives. While the I Love Bacon BLT stacks thick, smoky slices of crisp bacon, the real reason this joint packs ’em in is the authentic lobster roll, overflowing with huge chunks of lobster. Sandwiches are almost a foot long, so consider opting for a half sandwich and pair it with a cup of clam chowder, a bag of chips and a homemade whoopie pie. Each order comes with a piece of salt water taffy --- and you can also buy a bag to take home. If you are dining in, they serve a limited selection of beer and wine.
