Makai Market Restaurant Review: Hawaii's largest shopping center hosts this bustling food court with over 30 different establishments. There are familiar names from food courts around the country such as Sbarro, Panda Express and Jamba Juice. But there is a particular Hawaii-Asian twist here, reflecting the multi-ethnic background of the population in Hawaii. It may be the only food court in the country where you can get tripe stew (a Hawaiian delicacy), kalbi ribs (Korean), Japanese chicken katsu curry, beef broccoli (Chinese), plus a scoop of Häagen-Dazs and a custard-filled malasada (a Portuguese donut) all in the same place. Most of the Makai Market stands are open half an hour before the rest of the mall, so you can fuel up for (or recharge during) a day of shopping.
