 Ma'Kai Restaurant Review: Ma'Kai, located in the old Rebecca's space in Santa Monica, offers a sexy, lounge-like ambience that makes a great setting for parties. Big couches, a fire pit and two patios are meant to make customers feel at home. A menu of Asian fusion cuisine and sushi rolls is on offer. Start off with the seared ahi spinach salad, and follow it with one of the crudo selections such as spicy albacore sashimi with crispy onions and ponzu or ahi poke on a wonton with wasabi mayonnaise and tobiko caviar. Eel, shrimp, crab, avocado and tempura flakes are wrapped up to create the Ma'Kai's dragon roll. Entrées include miso-braised black cod and Kobe beef skirt steak. End your meal with a Kona coffee sundae or molten chocolate cake. |
