 The dramatically back-lit bar, which showcases row after row of bourbon and other bottles, and the contemporary red, black and polished wood décor all feature in the buzz at Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge, located in downtown's Fourth Street Live! Entertainment zone. The selection of more than five dozen bourbons (flights available if you simply can’t make up your mind) is matched by a menu that incorporates the whiskey in the dishes. Examples include a burger seared with a Gorgonzola and bourbon crust, low country shrimp and grits with bourbon cream sauce, and Marker's Mark barbecued ribs. Desserts similarly indulge, with the house favorite being the Maker’s Mark Wax Bourbon Balls, made of chocolate ganache with a bourbon filling that rest on a white chocolate bourbon "wax." Aficionados of the house brand will enjoy the gift shop near the entrance stocked with Maker's Mark merchandise. Despite all the emphasis on bourbon, one still may find a relatively decent bottle of wine from a mostly American list.
