Located in the Paraiso Town Center, this upscale Mexican has pretty but cozy furniture and a friendly vibe. The bar is equipped with flat-screen TVs and what they call a vodka tower. You can chill said vodka and other spirits by pouring them through this super-cooled frost-covered metal chute that sits on top of the bar. Specialty tequilas are served with sangrita and limes, and salt. You really can’t go wrong with any of the upscale Mexican dishes offered here. A wide range of salsas and sauces are whipped up to go with the tortilla chips, fried calamari, tacos, tamales and taquitos. Big fresh salads and grilled shrimp are lighter alternatives, but almost none of the food is prepared with lard. Save room for dessert because there are churros with warm chocolate sauce, pumpkin flan, and plantains under caramel, coffee ice cream and a chocolate-Kahlúa sauce. Servers are amiable and welcoming. The playground within eye-shot of the patio and a reasonably priced kids menu means you can bring los niños to lunch.
