THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mamma Lia Restaurant Review: The host will lead you down a narrow hallway to the back of the building, where youll discover an intimately secluded dining room that could just as easily be in the countryside as in downtown Raleigh. The food is suitably romantic, if not always executed with perfect consistency. Air-cured carpaccio di bresaola is a fine starter, as are crisply tender fried zucchini alla scapece. Winning main course options include vitello alla partenopea, with black olives and fresh herbs in a tomato sauce, and house-made pastas such as pappardelle with porcini, Italian sausage and a hint of truffle oil.
