THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mangos Restaurant Review:

Sunny is the word for Mangos. From the smiles on friendly faces to spices in the jerk chicken, everything about this little restaurant exudes warmth. The credit goes to owners Annette Coleman, former hairdresser to hip-hop star Missy Elliott, and Rita Owens, the mother of singer and actress Queen Latifah. They bring the sensibilities of the Deep South and tropical climes to the northland with dishes such as fried chicken, greens with pot likker, and coconut-and-curry red snapper. The color scheme is a combo of soft, buttery orange and Granny Smith apple green. Art work from a nearby African gallery adorns the walls. There are tall candles and fresh flowers on the tabletops. And dining here is as comfortable for a table of two as a family of ten.
