Mare Oyster Bar Restaurant Review: Step inside this North End restaurant and be transported to South Beach via the stylish setting featuring an open dining room, high ceilings, white walls, dark wood floors, and a wall of windows that allows for optimal people-watching. Restaurateur Frank de Pasquale’s establishment highlights Italian seafood as well as organic ingredients. Order a glass of Prosecco to pair with a lobster cocktail or Alaskan king crab. Spicy Italian-style mussels with garlic and white wine are a must, as is the grilled stuffed calamari with its combination of lobster, clams, scallop and shrimp. Another fun appetizer is the seafood meatball made with calamari tentacles and shrimp. For mains, we recommend the wild boar pappardelle and risotto di mare full of shrimp, scallops and calamari. Tiramisu made with coffee amaretti tastes even better with an espresso martini.
