Mariscos 7 Mares Restaurant Review:
A judicious interpretation of thatched roof dwellings lends authenticity to the décor of this cavernous Mexican restaurant. Huge TV screens keep tabs on "fútbol" (i.e., soccer) matches. Known especially for seafood, Mariscos 7 Mares also offers steak. But focus on the former, especially the ceviches, presented in large portions with a variety of fish and shellfish accompanied by fresh mango and a light bathing of lime juice. A filling and inexpensive snack are the tostadas piled high with ceviche. We liked the robalo (English snook), a fish rarely seen in these parts but one that is perfectly grilled here. Besides the ceviches, the seafood soups (caldos) are standouts. Share a Caldo 7 Mares and two people will divide lobster, crab legs, fish, shrimp and mussels in a savory broth. Order a cold Mexican brew or a cocktail to pair with the food.
