Begin your meal at Marisquería with the very good chunky salsa slightly sweetened with orange juice and flecked with cilantro and minced onion. Simple, fresh tasting and delicious, it's served with freshly fried tortilla chips. The seafood soups are based on fresh-tasting seafood stock, which serves as the poaching liquid for a trio of large seafood balls---almost like a quenelle but a little denser. Check out the ceviche, too, a tumble of octopus, shrimp and fish with cilantro and citrus juices. For main courses, look for dishes that are simply sauced, such as the red snapper Veracruz-style, adorned with sautéed peppers and capers; it's one of Mexico's most classic dishes. Dessert is limited to flan, which is homemade and tasty but a little too coarse, and American-style cheesecake. At night, the mariachi music can make table conversation a strain.
