This trendy cantina is always packed to the gills. Count on a party atmosphere and a long wait for a table. The food is informal, low-priced and tasty. Start with sweet corn tamales with jack cheese and poblano chiles, or a ceviche cocktail filled with shrimp and fish spiked with serrano chile and lime. Sizzling San Antonio-style fajitas are made with beef, chicken or shrimp. Tacos are popular, best filled with ancho-braised brisket. There are also hearty renditions of Tex-Mex classics like a half-roasted chicken with tomatillo sauce, hanger steak with chimichurri, and shrimp diablo sautéed with onions, peppers and chipotle chile salsa. Taco Tuesdays are especially busy, no surprise when the charge is just $7.95 for unlimited beef, chicken, carnitas and veggie tacos. To drink, there are strong margaritas and Mexican beers. For dessert, consider homemade vanilla flan or banana cream pie.
