Market Table Bistro Restaurant Review:

Jason Lage is a farmer and classically trained chef who has cooked for some of DC’s finer destinations. But at heart he is a country boy, hence his Lovettsville restaurant in the center of the farming town. Appropriately called Market Table Bistro, it mirrors the chef’s dedication to farm-fresh goods, especially since his own nearby farm is the source of vegetables and some of the meat products. Brunch and lunch dishes could easily satisfy at either time, from the deviled eggs and the MTB breakfast burger with sausage gravy and a fried egg to the more robust pastrami sandwich and the MTB mac and cheese. The dinner menu presents sterling examples of why people flock here from all over: what about quail, pork jowl carbonara or rabbit lasagna for a main course? Offerings change seasonally but you can’t go wrong. If it’s available for dessert, order the Textures of Chocolate with five in all including a truffle, panna cotta and chocolate lava cake with confectioners’ sugar. Expect a nicely stocked wine selection for meal pairings.
