Marlin Darlin' Restaurant Review: Old hands at seafood in Pinellas County (they even have their own fishing boats), this team has combined all they know in a decidedly contemporary, big-city fish emporium. Ceviches and tartares (tuna or snapper, for example), crab cake corndogs, tender fried rock shrimp, seared tuna, local grouper and hogfish---it all gets knowledgeable treatment with little fillips of Asian spices or slow-burn heat. It's a happening late-night spot, with mixologists giving the savvy wine list a run for its money. Dishes like yellowfin tuna carpaccio have followers, but the house-made kettle chips and flatbread pizzas are nothing to sniff at. It's busy and bustling, one of the few real gastronomic draws in Belleair Bluffs, attracting food cognoscenti from all over Tampa Bay with decent late-night hours. |
